Description
This informational session will feature Megan Hyman and will discuss how to start your own pediatric adaptive sports program. Clinicians will be able to identify the need for a community-based adaptive sports and recreation program, learn how to develop an adaptive sports and recreation program, and investigate potential funding sources to begin their community-based adaptive sports and recreation program for the youth.
Course Objectives/goals:
At the end of the webinar, participants will learn to:
- Evaluate opportunities in the pediatric community beyond skilled therapy.
- Recognize the value & impact of community-based programming for youth.
- Identify program components involved in building a community-based adaptive sports and recreation program for youth.
- Identify potential funding sources for community-based adaptive sports and recreation opportunities.
About The Speaker(s)
Megan Hyman is a pediatric occupational therapist with 20 years of experience working in early intervention, outpatient, school-based, and community environments. Megan serves as the Pediatric Community Programs Manager at Brooks Rehabilitation, overseeing three community-based programs. She is also the manager of the Brooks Pediatric Recreation Program, an adaptive sports and recreation program for youth with disabilities.
