APTA Pediatrics

On June 15, 1974, the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) House of Delegates approved the creation of the APTA Section on Pediatrics; the first business meeting was held the next day with 64 people in attendance. "I have been a member of the APTA for 58 years. I turned to the Section on Pediatrics to help guide me through the development of a school-based PT program followed by years serving as a volunteer. Along the way I met esteemed leaders and was given opportunities to serve in a fun way. An added perk was the friendships that developed and have continued over the years. The Academy has been a part of my life for so long, and I have gained so very much."
